Have a picnic while watching the majestic elks, look for the foxes as they hide in the bushes and stroke and feed some cuddly animals in the petting zoo. Don’t miss the world's first Shaun the Sheep theme park or the “Expedition Up” with wooden bridges in the trees where you can watch the animals from high above.

Ever been to a porpoise safari? The porpoise is a small toothed whale that looks like a dolphin. Come along on a one hour boat trip and see the porpoises up close and marvel at the fantastic Kullaberg scenery with alluring coves and mysterious caves. Experience the marine fauna in the aquariums, touch the starfish and watch underwater videos of porpoises. There´s also an evening tour of the magical coastline.

If you want to try something fun and completely different, go on a guided lamb safari. Eksholmens farm is located in beautiful countryside between Svedala and Genarp. Walk through the large sheep pasture in beautiful, hilly countryside with the forest as a backdrop. You’ll see all the hundreds of lambs close up while sitting in a wagon pulled by a tractor. The hosts tell you everything you want to know about the lambs as they drive around. Sometimes you can see the sheepdogs at work.

Alpaca trekking
These fairy tale creatures are placid, friendly animals. Book an alpaca trekking adventure for the whole family at the Alpakahof farm in northern Skåne. A walk through the forest in the company of alpacas is a unique experience. Even shy and anxious children usually feel at ease with alpacas, whose friendly, sensitive nature is impossible to resist. The walk takes around two hours, including a picnic stop.

Bat safari
Bats are fantastic creatures. While some live in caves, others travel thousands of miles to migrate. Join a bat safari with nature consultant and guide Espen Jensen. Some of the interesting facts Espen shares are that some bats may be over 20 years old, a bat can eat over 2.000 mosquitoes in one night, and that they have been around for around 65 million years. Espen arranges nightly bat safaris for local people and tourists in Fulltofta in the centre of Skåne.

This indoor zoo in the city of Helsingborg is home to exotic species from around the world.
