World-class courses all around Skåne
Skåne in the south of Sweden is the perfect destination for great golf. There are around 70 courses for every level and interest within a 50-minute drive, and several of them have hosted the European Tour and other championship events.
Skåne’s varied landscape is home to seaside courses, lush parkland, heathland and woodland courses.
The organisation Leading Courses has listed Skåne’s best golf clubs. Here are the top five:
Vasatorp
Vasatorp
Vasatorp is an award-winning club that offers a tournament course, classic course and an alley course. These different courses combine forest-lined fairways and open fields with water hazards, tricky bunkering and interesting approach possibilities. The championship-standard course with generous fairways has repeatedly been voted the best course in Sweden.
The National
The National
PGA National offers two state-of-the-art courses designed by Kyle Phillips, one of the world's leading course designers. Play either the links course or the lakes course, both beautifully integrated with the surrounding countryside. The Lakes course has hosted the European Tour on several occasions.

Ljunghusens Golf Club
Beautifully located by the Baltic sea on the south west of Skåne, the 27-hole links seaside course in Ljunghusen plays on sand dunes. The course is part of a nature reserve and many of the holes are just a few metres away from the white, sandy beach. Ljunghusen has hosted several national and international competitions and is considered one of the most challenging in the world.

Tegelberga GK
Tegelberga is a classic British heathland course in undulating countryside that tests expert players and inspires beginners and high handicappers to greater things. There’s a challenging 18-hole course famed for its immaculate condition that plays host to the Swedish Ladies’ Open Tour, and a 9-hole pay-and-play offering a high standard for all golfers, even if they don’t have an official handicap.

Kristianstad Golf Club
Kristianstad Golf Club boasts two 18-hole courses, the East course, founded in 1924, and the West course. Host to a number of different championships, Kristianstad is one of the best maintained courses in Sweden, holding 8th place in Golf Digest’s list of the best golf clubs in the Nordics. The courses are fairly flat but become very tricky when the wind blows in from the Baltic Sea.

This 18-hole course by Lake Ringsjön has been voted one of the world’s best new courses by Golfer Magazine. The course is designed by renowned architect Martin Hawtree and offers an enjoyable challenge in beautiful surroundings.

Österlen Golf Club
Österlen Golfclub features 36 holes and two different courses. Lilla Vik is a seaside course with a beautiful waterfront view, and Djupadal is built on sandy grounds, with inviting fairways and challenging greens. Both courses offer generous driving ranges, large putting greens and practice facilities. Lilla Vik also offers two padel courts, conference facilities and accommodation in comfortable apartments adjacent to the golf course.

Mölle Golf Club is in the Kullaberg nature reserve where the sea, the hills and flora and fauna contribute to make golfing here a fantastic nature experience. The course is just 5295 metres, but the terrain and small and undulating greens make this course challenging and interesting for players of all levels.
